Due to weather conditions the indoor athletics was moved to another day, Thursday 11th of February as the weather had cleared up. When the day arrived, each child was as nervous and excited as could be. As time went on, the bus collected us and off we were to Mayfield Leisure Centre.
We left the bus and went into the Leisure Centre. The lady announced that we were going to start after a warm up. Mr Moony worker of Midlothian Sports department introduced the warm up to us which involved stretches and running on the spot. For the boys 1 lap race, Declan and Liam represented our school, also Andrea and Rebecca did the girls 1 lap race. The boy who was doing the javelin was Aaron and the girl was Chloe.
Each school wore a uniform to represent their school, our school wore a red t-shirt just covering the waste it was that bright that we were the only school to stand out. The scores were all very close the winners were St David’s primary, St Matthew’s came second and third place were Stobhill and forth place were St Margaret’s.
We all enjoyed ourselves very much, it was time to go back to school so we all got our jackets on and left the Leisure Centre to go home, we hope that the Athletics will continue next year.
